The Woberson Got a Squirrel

That Woberson (as we call her sometimes... and otherwise known as Shelby) got a squirrel today.

Mom was sitting at her desk in the office and heard Daddy scream "NO SHELBY!!" (Now, what you have to know about our Daddy is he NEVER raises his voice, so) Mom went into panic mode and RAN out of the house and into the backyard. She said, "what happened?!" Dad said, "she got it! She got it!" Mom said, "got what?" Dad said, "She got the squirrel!" YIKES!!! Mom was upset. She ran over to the squirrel (who was NOT dead) and then screamed at Shelby and then grabbed some gloves and scooped up the squirrel (who, by this time appeared to be dead). Mom was so upset she cried and Dad demanded that we go in the house. Mom took the squirrel out of the back yard and left it next to the trashcan (we think she is hoping the thing was playing possum and won't be there in the morning)... we shall see.

Anyhow, Mom is refusing to talk to Shelby and Dad has been fussing at Mom saying that it is what we were made to do. Whatever. I think the whole thing is funny and have just been laying around looking cute.

So, when Mom asked Dad why Shelby did that Shelby told Mom that Puddles' post dared her to! She tried to blame it on Puddles. What a joke! Poor Puddles getting a bad wrap for something she had nothing to do with.

AND, Dad said this squirrel must have thought he was in the clear 'cause we ran out the door and passed him running after a bunny... then we doubled back and got him! (Mom just keeps saying, "poor baby squirrel".)

PS- I'm supposed to tell you there are no pics because Shelby has been hiding from Mom and will only go near Dad and Mom said there's no way she's taking a picture of a dead squirrel.
PPS- Some of you asked about the door in our last post... it is of our Mom's classroom door and yes, she does teach second grade.

Teacher Appreciation Week

It's teacher appreciation week, and as the daughters of a teacher we want to remind others to thank their teachers! It's easy to forget sometimes that that person is someone's Mom or Dad... but we know how hard teachers work since we live with one. It's a tough job, for sure! We spend many Saturday mornings grading papers with Mom. So, to all the teachers out there, THANK YOU!!

A Birthday Letter From Mom

Milly and Shelby,
I am so excited that today is your birthday... excited and a little sad. I cannot believe that it has been four whole years since you were born and almost four years since I first met you. I remember the day you came home to us. You were so tiny and precious. You were scared and shaking, but over the first few days you grew to love us and trust us. It was love at first sight for us. I remember when your Dad came home from work and saw you for the first time. The smile on his face was priceless and watching you waddle up through the front yard toward him is one of my favorite memories of you.
The day you came into our lives you became part of our family and you became our top priority. That has not changed. That will never change. You will never know loneliness or neglect. You will never do without what you need and, I pray, you will never go without your wants being fulfilled. The two of you have my heart and my promise that you will always have the best and will always be treated with love and respect.
You have taught me so much. You made me grow up and put you before myself. You showed me that making choices that affect others require lots of thought and sometimes require sacrifices. You showed me that I can love someone so much that it makes my heart hurt and that even when I am pushed to the extreme in patience, I can still react with love. You have taught me that even though I love to spend money on shoes, clothes, and going out to eat, if you need something there is no question that is what my money will go to paying. You taught me what it is like to wish with all my heart that the pain someone else was experiencing could be my own. You taught me how fast my heart can race when you escape the fence and how relieved I can feel when I have you back in my arms again. You have made me a better person. You have opened my eyes, my heart, and even my wallet.
You are amazing. I thank God for sending you to us. I pray every day that you will be happy, healthy, and safe. I love you, my MilShelb. I love you more than you will ever know.

Happy 4th Birthday... and here's to many, many more happy birthdays to come.
Love,
Mommy

A Question for Small Dogs and Moms

We're wondering how many of you live in a house with stairs? Can you use the stairs? We have always heard stairs and Doxies don't mix, so we're wondering how you live in houses with stairs. Does your Mom have to carry you?

On to some exciting news... next week is our BIRTHDAY!!! We were born 4 years ago on April 9th, 2007! Here's us with our brother as puppies...
