Just a Note

Based on the comments we had from our last post we wanted to point out a few things.
1. We do now walk on a leash. We do great on leashes and are even able to happily walk next to strollers and other dogs... bikes, not so much.
2. We do not know basic commands, but do know based on voice tone when our parents mean business and we freeze and wait to see what we should do next.
3. We are stubborn. Mom has tried to teach us things like sit and drop it, but we do not listen to those. We will drop something if mom or Dad reach for it, though. They tend to communicate with us by actions more than by words... which is fine since we don't speak english and they don't speak bark. :)
4. Our parents understand that some people feel strongly about training and that is wonderful for some dogs... but, just like people, not all dogs are willing to do what they are asked to do. Our Mom feels very strongly about our safety, health, and well-being. We don't go on walks a lot because our neighborhood is not safe for us, but we get plenty of exercise in our yard and have constant attention from our parents.

Anyhow, I guess we should have said that even though we droped out of obedience school we are not crazy dogs. :) We mostly think our drop out story is funny. We hope no one got the wrong idea of us or our parents. :) We know everyone who reads this only does the best for their fur babies and our parents are included in that number. :)

  2. That training lady sounds like an idiot. If every dog was perfect and we humans knew everything about training than why would we need trainers?!?! All any of us can do is our best and the important thing is that we love and care for our pups and they know it.

  3. No worries, I flunked out of obedience training as well. Basic commands are confusing and I don't have the time to try to figure them out - might cut into my nap and snack schedule.

  4. oh I do hope you weren't offended by my comment at all it wasn't meant that way at all!
I apologize, we weren't questioning your parenting abilities at all!! I just know how it feels to try to train, and be beat down by a "trainer" part of the reason i decided to go into it myself.

  5. I didn't offend you did I? As a fellow doxie girl, I am stubborn as well...VERY STUBBORN. However, that is just da breed. Anytime you read anything bout doxies they ALWAYS haves to mention their/our stubborness...hehehehe! But. we are a wonderful breed and once you haves a doxie, you will always have a doxie...trainable or not. At least your mom signed you up for training, my mum didn't even do that.

  6. Oh gosh! We were not offended by anyone's statements. :) We just wanted to point out that we're not crazy, out of control. We just forgot to mention the part about walking on a leash and some suff we do know and then when we read people's comments who seemed confused we decided it would be best to clear it all up. :)
